AKA is a new-circus and puppetry performance that exists in the chasm between disconnection and reconnection.
Set within a 2.5m squared cube, AKA is performed by two artists locked in a physical push/pull relationship. Through body manipulation, balance and circus skills, the two constantly flip between cooperation and conflict, blurring the line between solid form and shadow.
Characters, creatures, settings and scenes are constructed in real-time from objects scattered within the space. Building an abstract world of puppetry and illusion around a central figure at odds with the external manifestation of her current self.
AKA is an agile and exciting new work, suited to an audience of 12+.
